This interactive game environment seems to be the perfect tool for helping children with visual processing challenges as well as those kids ready to learn to read. The Tanagram (one of 3 games bundled with the basic setup) is an excellent tool for organizing Up/Down and Left/Right processing, and caught me a couple of times when I played it.
The word game not only teaches spelling, but also the correct orientation of letters (M/W etc)
The Newton game I have less of a handle on, but the function seems to have great potential (drawing letters, working inside a figure 8 etc)
