God, AI, and Time

INTRODUCTION
This post collates materials not directly associated with the focus of this blog – materials clarifying manual and movement therapy outlines and guidelines. Deviating from this theme, this post presents developments and concepts this writer is curious about and interested in following and is presented here within this formulation relating God, AI, and Time. He has no advanced knowledge of these subjects, being simply a curious observer.

GOD AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Access to the Wisdom of God
The invention of the Gutenberg printing press in the 15th century played a significant role in facilitating the spread of the Reformation. Making printed materials more accessible and affordable, allowed for wider dissemination of ideas that challenged the Catholic Church’s teachings and practices. This contributed to the rapid spread of Protestant reformers’ writings, including Martin Luther’s, which were pivotal in mobilizing public opinion and debate across Europe, thereby accelerating the Reformation’s impact.

The spread of printing technology, exemplified by Gutenberg’s press, significantly contributed to the Scientific Revolution. By making books and scientific works more accessible and affordable, it facilitated the spread of new ideas and discoveries. This ease of sharing knowledge allowed scientists to build upon each other’s work more efficiently, promoting scientific inquiry and innovation. The increased availability of printed materials also contributed to literacy and education, further fueling the intellectual climate necessary for the Scientific Revolution.

The intractable nature of the writing in Christian teachings left the door open for interpreters – people with some authority to explain what is being discussed. This era is now in its dusk as AI Chatbots take over this role, not only for Christianity but for all religions.

This article in Scientific American discusses this in some detail:
GOD CHATBOTS OFFER SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS ON DEMAND. WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

This new age we are living through is seemingly more like the dawn of an era at least as significant as the printing press every day. It is common to hear speculation that events comparable to this era were our antecedents taming fire or climbing down out of trees and walking only on their hind legs.

INTELLIGENCE / TIME

Intelligence, when considered through the lens of time, encompasses the ability to effectively apply knowledge and skills across different temporal contexts. This includes temporal awareness—recognizing and understanding the impact of the past, present, and future—as well as adaptability and prediction, which involve learning from experiences and using that knowledge to foresee and prepare for future events. Additionally, it requires adept decision-making that considers immediate needs and future outcomes, along with strategic planning that sets goals across varying timeframes and adapts strategies accordingly.

Moreover, intelligence in this framework involves managing time efficiently to prioritize and achieve tasks, maintaining temporal flexibility to shift focus between short-term and long-term objectives seamlessly, and fostering innovation to create solutions that will remain relevant over time. This concept of intelligence is not solely about processing information but also incorporates emotional intelligence to navigate the uncertainties of the future and the pressures associated with time, presenting a holistic approach to life where time is a crucial factor in shaping decision-making and actions.

Our concept of time is a consensual social agreement underpinning our collective efforts. Time does not cycle, but mechanisms can be built that oscillate in spacetime. Counting oscillations creates the experience of the passage of time.

To get a real experience of time, notice your weight. Our weight is the displacement of our mass by the earth caused by non-laminar temporal flow (time moves faster at our heads than at our feet, warping space1). What we call weight is the inertia of our mass as we are pushed outward from the earth’s center of mass by the earth’s surface NOW.

Our proprioceptive sense of this force is as immediate as is possible experience of the time dimension.

ARTIFICIAL SUPERINTELLIGENCE

Japanese Tea Garden, San Francisco

Buddha is an icon for simply witnessing the algorithm of the Living System to exploit the energy gradient of the surroundings.

Roger Penrose2 states, citing Gödel, et al., that consciousness is more complex than computational systems(mathematics is incomplete). Therefore, there might be attributes of our experience inaccessible to computational Artificial Superintelligence – the really interesting ones. If we have “Free Will”, AKA Robert Sapolsky3, it is likely to be somewhere in here.

This interview briefly covers this topic:
ROGER PENROSE ON QUANTUM MECHANICS AND CONSCIOUSNESS

Heisenberg and Schrödinger are taking a trip:
Heisenberg and Schrödinger are driving, and get pulled over. Heisenberg is in the driver’s seat, the officer asks “Do you know how fast you were going?” Heisenberg replies, “No, but I know exactly where I am!” The officer looks at him confused and says “You were going 88 miles per hour!” Heisenberg throws his arms up and cries, “Great! Now I’m lost!” The officer, now more confused and frustrated orders the men outside of the car, and proceeds to inspect the vehicle. He opens the trunk and yells at the two men, “Hey! Did you guys know you have a dead cat back here?” Schrödinger comments, “We do now!”

11 Dimensions
Time, as well as space, are potentially significantly more complex than we have traditionally understood.

This Ted Talk by Thad Roberts delves into the theoretical complexities of Spacetime. If this holds up, we may just be scratching the surface of our evolutionary potential.

SUPERINTELLIGENCE
Many of us have experienced, during altered states, a connection with Intelligence existing beyond the borders of our four-dimensional spacetime. These encounters have at times been described as revelations from god. The experience leaves the impression that intelligence is not limited to the dimensional constraints of our physical form but is instead a universal attribute that neurology evolves to exploit,4 – the functional playground analogous to the spatial dimensional playground utilized by the Living System for structural optimizations.5

  1. GPS Satellites are about 12,00 miles above our heads. They geolocate using precise clocks. These clocks need to be recalibrated daily to maintain accuracy (.038 milliseconds drift/24hrs.) due to the difference in their proximity to Earth’s mass (General Relativity) and their speed relative to us (Special Relativity). A minuscule variance in time causes a massive distortion of space, resulting in the effect we call gravity. ↩︎
